Amplification Refractory Mutation System (ARMS)-PCR for Waxy Sorghum Authentication with Single-Nucleotide Resolution

Waxy sorghum has greater economic value than wild in relation to their use food processing and the brewing industry. Thus, authentication of waxy species is an important issue. Herein, a rapid sensitive Authentication Amplification Refractory Mutation System-PCR (aARMS-PCR) method was employed identify via its ability resolve single-nucleotide genes. As proof concept, we chose containing wxc mutation which abundantly used liquor brewing. The aARMS-PCR can distinguish non-wxc from guarantee identification specific species. It allowed detect as low 1% mixtures, ar one most tools for authentication. Due resolving genes with resolution high sensitivity, may have wider applicability monitoring adulteration, offering authenticity verification control adulteration.
